They're built on the same platform, so, it makes sense. Only the drivetrains and (possibly, maybe not) subframes are different, I think.

Yes. But if you look at the Camry and ES now they bare no resemblance. The look so similar back then.

They're the same XV20 chassis. and they shared the same 1MZ drivetrain and transmission. I think only the interior and some of the panels are slightly different.

The ES300 was called the world's most expensive Camry. Thousands extra to take the same bland FF layout and add some badges.
